Joyce Gordon, 86, passed away peacefully at her home on April 20, 2024, in Longview, Texas.
Born on January 23, 1938, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Warren Oliver Hollenberger and Aultie Else Kelley Hollenberger.
Joyce adored gardening, traveling, and shopping. She poured her heart into beautifying her yard, finding joy in tending to her flowerbeds. Alongside Glenn, she explored countless destinations in their RV and embarked on numerous road trips. As a dedicated member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Longivew, she actively participated in her Sunday school class. Joyce's legacy isn't about standing still; it's about perpetual motion, always eager for the next adventure.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn; children, Glenda Godwin, David Nichols (Donna), and Kathy Stewart. Grandchildren, Steve Gossage, Eric Nichols (Sallie), Jason Ratcliff (Shelley), Ricky Boykin, Allen Nichols (Lauren), Chris Godwin, and Brandon Nichols (Kim). Great-grandchildren Brittnee Gossage, Mason, Reagan and Lawson Nichols, MaryKate and Hayden Ratcliff, Maddilyn and Katelyn Boykin, Camen Youngblood (Matt), Kanten and Eli Nichols, Mia Nichols and four great-great grandchildren.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Wanda Lorene Williams and daughter, Karen Ford.
A Life Celebration funeral service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of The Cammack Family Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road, Longview, Texas. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, April 25, 2024, from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. in the Garden Court of The Cammack Family Welch Funeral Home.
